The Backyard Bash | Jen & Miles | Eastern Shore

The back story

Jen and Miles found us after watching one of our wedding films out of Philly - completely swept up in the story, the emotion, the cinematic feel. When they reached out, the vision was crystal clear. In Jen’s words:

“It’s all happening at Miles’ family home in Strathmere Beach. We just want it to feel like a party… that we happen to get married at.”

And just like that, the backyard wedding of the century came to life - laid-back, overflowing with energy, and wrapped in the kind of joy you can’t script.

And just like that, the backyard wedding of the century came to life - laid-back, overflowing with energy, and wrapped in the kind of joy you can’t script.

As a Washington DC wedding videographer working across the East Coast, we’ve filmed in everything from grand estates to hidden beaches - and this one had a little bit of it all. Set on the Eastern Shore at Miles’s childhood home in Strathmere Beach, New Jersey, their wedding was a perfect collision of personal history, elevated design, and all-out celebration.

Jen and Miles? They go way back - high school sweethearts, technically. Miles asked her out more than once (read: a lot), and years later, she finally came to her senses. That persistent charm clearly paid off.

From the moment we arrived, the ocean breeze, coastal calm, and effortless beauty of the setting matched their vision to a T. As their chosen East Coast wedding videographer, we had the honor of capturing everything - from Jen’s emotional first look with her mom and bridesmaids to the private, windswept moment she shared with Miles on the same beach where they first met.

The day was filled with personal touches that reflected their story: heartfelt handwritten vows, a reception soundtracked by Pop Philly of EBE Talent, and a dance floor decked out with checkerboard tiles, disco balls, and just the right amount of chaos. Oh - and Jen’s surprise outfit change? Iconic.

This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a vibe, a memory, and a masterclass in how to throw a party that feels like home.

We were honored to be part of this elevated backyard wedding at Strathmere Beach - and even more honored to tell their story on film.

“WILL! This is unbelievable. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Not only were these videos beautifully shot, edited, and delivered, they really captured the feeling of our wedding day. Watching it, the sounds you picked up, and the narrative you wove, took me back right to what we were experiencing. I especially love your use of audio, how you can isolate sounds, blend them together as you transition, and carry them into the next frame seamlessly. It’s truly impressive.

You truly captured us: how kinda weird we are, how much love we have for each other, and how much fun we had on this day.

Honestly, Will, investing in you as our videographer for our wedding day was one of the best decisions we made. (And you can quote me on that/all of this). We are so happy that you got to experience the magic of the day with us.”
